SQIM’s novel and revolutionary materials’ brand EPHEA™️, together with DYLOAN leader in technological manufacturing for luxury fashion, jointly developed and released their first mycelium-based capsule collection (i.e., non-commercial prototypes).

The combination of SQIM’s mycelium-based biofabrication processes and unique high-quality products, matched by DYLOAN’s cutting edge digital technologies, have inspired the creation of a disruptive capsule collection that reinterprets four iconic outerwear items from the historical archives, leveraging unique, functional and high value products, with a decisive and positive impact on society and on the ecosystem we all belong to.

Following multiple technological tests on ephea materials, and with the purpose of further enhancing the materials’ properties, specific manufacturing technologies have been selected, so to develop a collection of ethical products consistently expressing the qualities of both the materials and the final designs. Such technologies include thermo-welding, digital-embroidery, laser-cutting, and screen-printing.

The capsule collection has been developed within the framework of the EMYCLOTH project (project n. 00216), funded by #ELIIT, an initiative of the European Union seeking to support textile, clothing, leather, and footwear (TCLF) SMEs in enhancing their competitiveness while helping them integrating new technologies in innovative or high added-value products, processes, or services.

The capsule collection items, including the ephea Bomber Jacket, are today unique pieces (non-commercial) demonstrating the effective viability in utilising our groundbreaking technologies and materials for the development of outstandingly innovative fashion garments.
